We’re busy planning a number of events for the fall while continuing the work of creating the arts and culture center we’ve envisioned for more than a decade. It’s exciting to see that vision continue to take shape, and we’re grateful to everyone who attends our events and helps keep the arts thriving in our community. If you’d like to support our work, donations of any size will help us continue improving the building, expanding programming, and creating a welcoming home for arts and culture in Salem.

Please continue to visit our website for updates on coming events, news on building improvements, and future programming.

In the meantime, we’re excited to bring free Shakespeare to communities across the North Shore this month!

Shakespeare in the Park

We are thrilled to announce Salem Playhouse’s 6th Annual Shakespeare in the Park: A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Join us for an enchanting evening as Shakespeare’s beloved comedy

comes to life with mischievous fairies, tangled romances, and plenty of laughter. Bring a picnic, chairs, blankets, and your imagination. It’s a terrific way to introduce children to the Bard! All shows begin at 6:30 PM and are free.

  • Friday, June 19: Derby Wharf, Salem

  • Saturday, June 20: Winnekenni Castle, Haverhill

  • Sunday, June 21: Andover Town Common, Andover

Facility Update

Exciting news!

We recently received a Community Preservation Act grant from the City of Salem to repair and restore seven windows facing our courtyard.

This important project will help preserve our historic building. It's one step in a much larger effort to address the property’s ongoing preservation and improvement needs. Maintaining our building is an ongoing investment, and while grants like this one help make critical work possible, additional improvements will require significant funding and support.

We look forward to continuing that work as we build an even stronger home for arts and culture in our community!

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who joined us this spring for our staged reading of Julius Caesar and our production of God of Carnage. An extra thank you to those who came out to sing sea shanties with us!
